We're Reopening as a Worker-Owned Co-op!
Monday Sept. 18th

We are overjoyed to announce that we will be re-opening Common Ground this September as a worker-owned cooperative in partnership with the Baltimore Roundtable for Economic Democracy (BRED) and Seed Commons.

It’s been a lengthy and stressful process, but we are so happy to finally be able to tell you, our customers, the exciting news. We can’t thank you guys more for the help we have received throughout the process of becoming a worker cooperative. From helping our coworkers pay rent and buy food, we truly don’t know what we would’ve done without you all.

Seed Commons and BRED, who were both co-founded by our friends at Red Emma’s Bookstore Coffeehouse, helped us forge this path toward worker-ownership. They’ve helped us so much, and we are so happy to have them not only as a resource but as companions and confidants.

We thank everyone in as many ways as we can say thank you. We look forward to seeing all your wonderful faces and continuing the legacy that has been Common Ground. We’re excited to be further into solidarity with our neighbors while remaining a staple of the Hampden community. Get ready to not only come back to your favorite gathering place but to finally gorge yourselves on coffee and baked goods once again. We’ll be slowly getting everything back to normal with a soft opening to start, but we are doing everything we can to perfect an even better place that you know and love. Love you all.
